Artistic Director

Katie Harrison is a founder of The Historic Queen Theatre and serves as the Artistic Director. Katie has a large background in Theatre Education, most recently serving as Fort Bend Theatre's Education Director for the past four years. She has been performing in house and on tour with Main Street Theatre For Youth for the past five years, where she got to portray such memorable and exciting characters as Junie B. Jones, Veruca Salt, Beezus Quimby, The Cow from Click Clack Moo, and many more. Since moving to Texas six years ago, Katie has directed many shows, including: Disney's The Jungle Book, High School Musical, High School Musical 2, Disney's Aladdin, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Rules Of Comedy, Babes In Toyland, and Honk Jr. She has also served as Music Director and Sound Designer for many productions. On stage, local audiences may have seen Katie at the Stafford Centre in productions such as Oliver! (Nancy), The Sound Of Music (Maria), My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle), Beauty and The Beast (Enchantress), Annie Get Your Gun (Annie Oakley), and Cinderella (Cinderella). Katie is currently a member of the Musical Group, Prodigy. With Prodigy, she performs for many local benefits and festivals such as the United Way kick off at the Hobby Center and Telfair's International Music Festival. Katie was proud to work Entertainment for Six Flags Astroworld during its final two seasons of life. She served as the Swing for many of the park's shows and the Music Director for The Honeycombs. Before moving to Texas, Katie toured the East Coast with a Musical version of Alice In Wonderland (Alice). She also worked with Horn in The West Outdoor Drama in Boone, NC. Originally from Johnson City, TN, Katie studied Music and Theatre at East Tennessee State University.
