Curtis Barber graduated with a BFA in Acting from Texas State
University in San Marcos, Tx. He is no stranger to Queen Theatre, serving as an Associate Casting Director for TREASURE ISLAND and ROMEO and JULIET as well as directing the Queen's Winter Camp - Babes in Toyland. He is excited to return and continue teaching!
He has been seen most recently as the bumbling Yepikhodov in The Cherry Orchard, and a staged reading of James Hindmans new play, Yag in the Hat as Gerald Stevenson. Curtis has also starred in Charles Meets Big Love as Guiliano and Sarah Ruhls Melancholy Play as Frank.
Other credits include Gypsy (Island ETC Theatre in Galveston),
a Stepsister in a bold production Roger and Hammersteins
Cinderella (Fort Bend Theatre), and Carlo Goldonis in The Servant of Two Masters. He recently directed a new envisioning of Carlos Murillos Dark Play: Or Stories for Boys. He completed his European tour as a Shakespearean student and clown in the summer of 2011, studying under Jane LaPotaire of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
